Frostie was originally produced in 1939 by The Frostie Beverage Company of Catonsville, Maryland. At the end of 1979, it was sold to the Monarch Beverage Company of Atlanta where it was underpromoted for years. The Frostie brand was in need of a contemporary identity that would sell its classic flavor in the modern market.
The visual language of the identity is crafted to revive the classic tone of the brand without compromising its modern appeal. Inspired by the nostalgic quality of retro arcades, the identity utilizes the bold colors and simple, strong form of 8-bit pixels to showcase the colorful array of flavors that the Frostie brand offers.
